2016. It’s hard to believe that just sixteen years ago the world was wondering if we would all be wiped out by Y2K. As we begin this new year many of us are trying to keep new year’s resolutions that are only five days old. We signed up for gym memberships, vowed to attend church more and save money. You may have seen Oprah Winfrey’s new commercial endorsing Weight Watchers as she claims 2016 will be the best year of her best body ever. I like that. Instead of setting unrealistic goals and expectations, just vow to get to a better place. Basically, Oprah is saying she’s going to take this thing one day at a time.
I admit I set some goals for this year; things that will stretch and challenge me personally and professionally, but very few of them can be accomplished overnight. Instead, I have to chip away at the pieces one at a time. I want 2016 to be my best year of life. I want to be healthy: mind, body and soul and I want the same for each of you. I’ve come to terms that I can’t change the past, but I can write my future. Let’s get ready for the best that is yet to come as we reclaim our lives, purposes and destiny!
Happy New Year! Let’s do this together, one step at a time.
