As the Minister of Education and Praxis Dr. Tyson works with Pastor Trayce and the Core Team to provide leadership to fulfill the mission of Second Chance Christian Church by coordinating the church's educational programs. Through active participation in Christian Education programming, her desire is to develop and give oversight to relevant, holistic and comprehensive faith formation for people of all ages (members and non-members) so that all who participate no matter where they are on the path of spiritual growth and development will be better equipped for discipleship.
It is clear that God has called and qualified Dr. Tyson to teach – it is the God source of that call that gives her joy. As the Minister of Education and Praxis, she anticipates continuing her involvement with covenantal partners in ministry, developing curriculum for adult spiritual growth and development, as well as for children’s church ministry. She plans to use her gifts of teaching and presence with bereavement support programs through hospice to spiritually and emotionally support children as they learn to acknowledge change, adjust and integrate loss with healthful grief and mourning.
No spiritual journey is meant to be taken alone. As she moves forward Dr. Tyson will continue to work with Pastor Trayce, the Core Team, her spiritual critical friends, and those in her communities of faith for spiritual and theological support. Most importantly, every day she petitions God’s guidance and direction, blessing and protection, as she continues to develop the humility of a generous heart to be obedient to her call.
